Draganfly Inc. has been selected by the U.S. Army to supply its Flex FPV (First Person View) drone systems, marking a pivotal step forward in the field deployment of agile unmanned aerial platforms.
Under the initial agreement, Draganfly is set to deliver high-performance Flex FPV drones and support establishment of onsite production capabilities at overseas U.S. installations. In addition to hardware delivery, Draganfly will train military personnel in both flight operations and manufacturing, and oversee logistics within a supply chain compliant with NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) standards as stated in the press release.
This procurement is intended to bring critical drone technologies closer to operational theaters, reducing vulnerabilities associated with long supply chains and enhancing deployment responsiveness.
Draganfly noted that recent military exercises underscore the increasing importance of FPV drones. For instance, during the Swift Response 2025 exercise in Lithuania, paratroopers utilized in-house built FPV drones against both dismounted and vehicle-scale autonomous targets. Also highlighted in the release was a milestone achieved in August 2025, when the U.S. Army conducted its first air-to-air engagement using an armed FPV drone.
Cameron Chell, President & CEO of Draganfly, remarked that the collaboration aligns with the Army’s shift toward embedding tactical drone capability at the front lines. He added that by pairing advanced systems, embedded manufacturing capability, training, and secure logistics, Draganfly aims to strengthen the agility and supportability of forces forward deployed.
