Redwire Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Edge Autonomy, has carried out another shipment of Penguin unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Redwire, Edge Autonomy has been providing Penguin systems to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war in February 2022. The drones are used to strengthen intelligence, surveillance, and target-tracking missions.
Steve Adlich, President of Edge Autonomy, mentioned that the company’s location in the Baltics offers both proximity and a clear view of Ukraine’s defense needs. He also stated that Edge Autonomy values its cooperation with Ukrainian forces and intends to expand its engagement across Europe.
The company explained that it maintains a team inside Ukraine, working directly with frontline personnel. This presence allows engineers to adapt and enhance the Penguin platform based on immediate operational feedback.
Edge Autonomy highlighted that the Penguin UAS is known for its long endurance, rapid setup, and ease of use. The system’s combat record has led to its inclusion in U.S. aid packages to Ukraine during 2023 and 2024.
Redwire added that Edge Autonomy specializes in autonomous aerial systems, advanced optics, and resilient energy solutions, with decades of design and manufacturing experience to support global defense customers.
