Axon, a leader in public safety technology, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Prepared, an AI-driven emergency communications platform. According to Prepared, the company’s technology integrates 911 call audio, text, video, GPS, and real-time translation into a unified interface, helping emergency responders make faster, more informed decisions. Prepared currently supports over 1,000 agencies across 49 states.

Rick Smith, Axon’s Founder and CEO, noted that combining Prepared’s AI capabilities with Axon’s ecosystem will help eliminate blind spots during emergencies, improving speed and situational awareness for first responders. Michael Chime, Prepared’s CEO, stated that the partnership will expand access to their platform, accelerate development of new tools, and enhance support throughout all phases of emergency response.

The acquisition is expected to close in early Q4, subject to customary conditions. Prepared was founded in 2019 and provides end-to-end AI tools for public safety agencies, consolidating critical functionality on a single interface.
