Shield AI has officially opened a new office in Taipei 101, marking an expansion of its presence in Taiwan. According to the company, this move coincided with its participation in the Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) 2025, where it underscored growing collaborations with Taiwan’s defense, government, and industry sectors.
The company stated that the Taipei facility provides a permanent base in Taiwan to strengthen engagement with local partners. Brandon Tseng, Shield AI’s President and Co-Founder, who previously served as a Navy SEAL, mentioned that a local presence allows the company to work closely with industry and government stakeholders on autonomous technologies and aircraft capabilities that reinforce deterrence.
The office inauguration took place on September 20, with representatives from government, academia, and industry in attendance. During TADTE, Tseng delivered a presentation titled “The Modern Battlefield: Lessons from Ukraine and Why Autonomy Matters”, while Chief Technology Officer Nathan Michael spoke on “Sovereign Autonomy: The Critical Enabler of Drone Armies.”
The opening also highlighted Shield AI’s collaboration with Taiwan’s Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC). The two organizations are working together on deployment, sustainment, training, and integration of Shield AI’s autonomous systems in Taiwan. Representatives from AIDC joined the Shield AI team at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, emphasizing the partnership’s significance.
Founded in 2015, Shield AI specializes in autonomy software and aircraft. The company noted that its offerings include the V-BAT aircraft and the Hivemind enterprise and vision systems, and that it maintains offices across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
