AUSEV has partnered with Crow Industries to introduce the Fenris Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) into Australia, New Zealand, and the wider Asia-Pacific region, according to the announcement. The collaboration is aimed at advancing autonomous robotics for both defence and mining applications.

As stated in the release, AUSEV will serve as the exclusive distributor of the Fenris UGV in the region, while Advanced Manufacturing Queensland will handle local re-manufacturing at its Queensland facility. This arrangement is intended to strengthen sovereign robotics capability by ensuring advanced systems can be built domestically.

The Fenris UGV is designed for autonomous operations in remote and harsh environments. Its uses range from gathering geological data for resource exploration to performing military support tasks. The system integrates AI and swarm-enabled features, which the companies said improve safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

Brendan Kenny of AUSEV highlighted the company’s expertise in homologation, its role in local manufacturing, and its ties to the mining industry, describing these as strong foundations for introducing advanced automation to the region.

According to James Crowell, Founder and CEO of Crow Industries, Australia provides a challenging environment that is well suited for scaling autonomous vehicle technology. He added that the partnership accelerates the delivery of locally manufactured autonomous systems.

The companies framed the agreement as a step forward in boosting innovation, sustainability, and sovereign industrial capability in robotics, with the potential to strengthen Australia’s position in defence and mining automation.
