ZeroAlpha Solutions Ltd has announced a world-first capability with the release of its BB2590 Bidirectional USB-C Charger, designed to modernize power management for military operations. According to the company, the device is engineered and manufactured in the UK and builds on their established line of BB2590 and CWB USB adapters, which are already widely used by armed forces around the globe.

The new compact and rugged adapter enables the BB2590 battery to be charged directly from any USB-C Power Delivery (PD) source, including laptop chargers in service, commercial 12/24V vehicle adapters, and other compatible devices. It provides up to 100W of USB-C PD output across all compliant voltages and also includes a USB-A port for legacy equipment.

ZeroAlpha emphasized that this system removes the need for dedicated BB2590 chargers or commercial power banks in the field, reducing both weight and logistical demands for small teams and light infantry.

Potential applications highlighted by the company include:

  • Tactical end-user devices such as TAK/ATAK
  • Drone and UAV batteries
  • Military laptops and tablets
  • STARLINK and STARSHIELD terminals

The announcement positions the BB2590 Bidirectional USB-C Charger as a significant advancement in tactical power solutions, supporting modern military operations with greater flexibility and efficiency.
