TEKEVER has launched its fourth UK facility at The Spectrum Building in Swindon. The site, which spans 254,000 square feet, is the largest TEKEVER location in the UK and is intended to enhance production capabilities for the company’s AR3 and AR5 drone platforms.
The company mentioned that the facility will support both industrial and office functions, covering the full lifecycle of drone production from rapid prototyping to the development of new platform concepts. TEKEVER highlighted that this expansion aligns with its strategy to strengthen the UK’s defense manufacturing and supply chain resilience.
According to Karl Brew, Head of TEKEVER’s Defence Unit, the company is proud to contribute to Swindon’s economic development. He noted that the new site will boost TEKEVER’s innovation capacity and operational efficiency, supporting its broader ambitions in the UK defense sector.
The press release also noted that UK Defence Secretary John Healey is scheduled to visit the facility to review plans for its refurbishment into a state-of-the-art site, expected to open in summer 2026. Will Stone, MP for Swindon North, welcomed TEKEVER’s expansion, citing the town’s potential to become a hub for drone innovation and skilled employment opportunities.
Councillor Jim Robbins, Leader of Swindon Borough Council, expressed satisfaction that TEKEVER chose the Spectrum Building for its largest UK facility, adding that UAV testing and pilot training will take place at the nearby Science and Innovation Park in Wroughton.
The expansion is part of TEKEVER’s OVERMATCH programme, a five-year plan investing over £400 million into British drone production and advanced AI warfare capabilities, with the goal of creating more than 1,000 highly skilled jobs.
