Global Spatial Technology Solutions (GSTS) announced that it has been awarded a contract by Canada’s Department of National Defence under the IDEaS program to carry out operational testing of its new predictive maintenance platform. According to the company, the initiative will focus on trialing the OCIANA® Predictive Maintenance (OPM) system, which is designed to enhance military fleet readiness by anticipating failures before they occur.

GSTS explained that the OPM system builds on its existing OCIANA® technology and uses artificial intelligence to process live data from ships and their operating environments. By analyzing this information, the platform can forecast equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and lower overall maintenance costs.

Richard Kolacz, Chief Executive Officer of GSTS, noted that the move represents a critical step in shifting the platform from development to operational use. He emphasized that early detection of potential failures and improved maintenance scheduling can significantly increase efficiency and resilience for naval operations.

The company also highlighted that the contract supports testing in real-world conditions, with the aim of providing Canadian defence forces with a practical tool to strengthen predictive maintenance practices.
