EDGE Defence Ltd has announced a formal agency agreement with SH Defence, part of Denmark’s SH Group A/S, to provide advanced modular mission systems across New Zealand and the Pacific region, according to the company. The partnership will make SH Defence’s solutions, including The Cube™ mission module system, skidding and handling systems, launch and recovery systems (LARS), and mission bay doors, available to regional defence, security, and emergency response agencies.

EDGE Defence stated that the collaboration supports New Zealand’s Defence Capability Plan 2025, which prioritizes modularity, deployability, and multi-domain interoperability. By integrating SH Defence’s systems into naval, coastguard, and civil defence platforms, the companies aim to enable rapid mission reconfiguration, allowing vessels to shift between roles such as intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and combat operations within hours.

John Gell, General Manager of EDGE Defence NZ, emphasized that the agreement brings cutting-edge modular naval technology to the region while ensuring interoperability, agility, and resilience. Peter Liisberg, Sales Director of SH Defence, highlighted that EDGE Defence’s local expertise and relationships with government and defence clients will ensure strong regional support for SH Defence solutions.

The partnership positions EDGE Defence and SH Defence to respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), tenders, and direct engagements with regional defence and security agencies, combining Danish engineering with local delivery capabilities.
