At the DSEI 2025 exhibition in London, THEON International unveiled its NYX-BiNOD, a production-ready night vision binocular designed to meet the U.S. Army’s specifications. According to the company, this new system is fully compliant with U.S. Army requirements in areas such as optical performance, durability, and resistance to environmental and electromagnetic conditions.

The NYX-BiNOD builds on THEON’s established NYX product family, which has already been fielded by the U.S. Marine Corps and various NATO partners. THEON mentioned that this proven background allows them to deliver a mature solution faster, while others are still in development stages.

Highlighted features include true stereoscopic vision for better depth perception, white phosphor tubes with high figure-of-merit values for improved target recognition in low-light conditions, and a lightweight, rugged housing derived from earlier NYX designs. The binocular is also modular, enabling use in both monocular and binocular modes with intuitive controls.

Dr. Michalis Kolotos, THEON’s Business Development Director for “Five Eyes” countries, said the NYX-BiNOD is more than just compliant on paper—it is a battle-proven system with a record of reliability under demanding conditions.

The company emphasized that this version was developed specifically to meet U.S. Army standards, which differ from those of other international customers. Alongside NYX-BiNOD, THEON also displayed its broader portfolio at DSEI, including night vision monoculars, modular binoculars, clip-on optics, thermal imagers, and its A.R.M.E.D. augmented reality modular system.
