Kepler Communications, a Canadian satellite communications company, has appointed Beau Jarvis as its new Chief Revenue Officer. According to the announcement, Jarvis will oversee Kepler’s global commercial strategy and lead efforts to expand adoption of its next-generation optical data relay network across government, commercial, and international markets.
The company mentioned that its on-orbit optical relay network is designed to provide real-time, high-throughput communications between satellites, space assets, and ground stations. The system utilizes optical inter-satellite links (OISLs), on-orbit processing, and a distributed mesh network to deliver sub-second latency and gigabit-level throughput, addressing critical in-orbit data transfer limitations.
Mina Mitry, CEO of Kepler, stated that Jarvis brings a unique combination of industry expertise, entrepreneurial experience, and revenue leadership to the company. She highlighted his proven track record in developing go-to-market strategies and commercializing advanced space technologies.
Jarvis has over 20 years of experience in the space and Earth observation sectors, having played key roles in generating early-stage revenue and securing venture capital for high-growth startups. Before joining Kepler, he held senior roles at Planet Labs, HawkEye 360, and Phase Four, leading commercialization efforts, scaling revenue, and managing satellite technology development.
In his new role, Jarvis aims to enable real-time data streaming in space, which Kepler says will enhance connectivity and accelerate growth in areas such as Earth observation, human spaceflight, and scientific research.
Founded in 2015, Kepler Communications focuses on providing continuous, real-time connectivity for space missions, building an “Internet for space” with in-house satellite production and a network designed to serve missions in LEO, MEO, GEO, and beyond.
