Spanish technology company Arquimea has announced a strategic collaboration with Hovering Solutions to develop and commercialize autonomous aerial systems designed for subterranean environments. According to the announcement, the partnership will focus on the Q-SCOUT, a compact unmanned system capable of operating in tunnels, pipelines, and other underground structures.

Arquimea mentioned that the Q-SCOUT is equipped to perform inspection, surveillance, mapping, and reconnaissance tasks without relying on GPS or radio communications, using advanced navigation technologies and intelligent sensors. Its modular payload system allows it to adapt to a range of mission requirements, enhancing flexibility for defense operations.

The companies presented the Q-SCOUT at the DSEI exhibition, highlighting its operational readiness and its potential to safely explore and monitor spaces that are difficult or dangerous for personnel to access. Manuel Martín Flórez, General Manager of Defense at Arquimea, emphasized that the collaboration combines Arquimea’s experience with smart loitering munition systems and Hovering Solutions’ expertise in underground autonomous systems, creating a solution ready for deployment in current missions.

Fran Espada, CEO and founder of Hovering Solutions, highlighted the innovation represented by the Q-SCOUT and its potential for international applications, noting the system’s ability to enhance safety and situational awareness in challenging environments.

According to the announcement, the partnership reinforces Arquimea’s commitment to technological advancement and strengthens its position in the defense sector, particularly in multi-domain loitering and autonomous systems.
