Mistral AI announced that it has secured €1.7 billion in a Series C funding round, bringing the company’s valuation to €11.7 billion.
According to the company, the round was led by ASML Holding NV, which now holds an 11% stake in Mistral, making it the largest shareholder. Other investors included DST Global, Andreessen Horowitz, Bpifrance, General Catalyst, Index Ventures, Lightspeed, and NVIDIA.
Mistral mentioned that the funds will be used to advance its research and development in AI, with a focus on building decentralized, frontier AI models and solutions for industry, public sector, and enterprise applications.
CEO Arthur Mensch stated that the partnership with ASML will help tackle complex engineering and technological challenges, while Christophe Fouquet, CEO of ASML, noted that the collaboration could enable innovative AI-driven solutions for ASML’s customers and joint research initiatives.
The company emphasized that this funding round strengthens Mistral AI’s position in the global AI landscape and underscores its commitment to pushing technological boundaries.
