FLANQ and CiS have entered into a strategic partnership following the successful demonstration of an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) launching and recovering an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). According to FLANQ, the test showed how their modular USV platform and CiS’s autonomous drone system can work together to expand operational reach.
The companies explained that this collaboration is designed to combine surface and aerial assets into one integrated solution. The approach aims to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions by extending endurance and situational awareness at sea.
FLANQ highlighted that their USV technology offers modularity and rapid adaptability, while CiS contributes UAV expertise with long-range and autonomous flight capabilities. Together, the partnership intends to deliver a flexible, scalable system to support naval and security operations in complex maritime environments.
Daniel Esser, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer at FLANQ, said the partnership represents a step toward strengthening maritime security and resilience. Tom Kaufmann, CEO of CiS, added that combining unmanned surface and aerial technologies creates new opportunities for improved decision-making and operational effectiveness.
Both companies noted that the capability will be presented publicly at upcoming maritime exercises, underscoring its readiness for real-world applications.
