DroneShield, a global frontrunner in counter-drone systems, has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing airport safety by renewing its support for the Australian Airports Association (AAA). According to the company, this renewed partnership underscores its dedication to safeguarding the integrity and resilience of Australia’s aviation sector amid evolving drone-related threats.

DroneShield highlighted that as both recreational and commercial drone activity intensifies, the hazards posed by unauthorized or rogue drone incursions near airports continue to grow. By extending its backing to the AAA, the company demonstrates its readiness to collaborate closely with industry stakeholders to mitigate these emerging challenges effectively.

Kacey Lam-Evans, DroneShield’s Government Affairs Director, emphasized the urgency of counter-drone measures in current times. “With the increasing visibility and proliferation of drone-related safety and security threats, ensuring the protection of airports and aerodromes through counter-drone capabilities is important more so now than ever,” she said. DroneShield further noted that renewing its AAA membership reinforces its commitment to equipping the airport sector with cutting-edge solutions to preserve secure airspace and public confidence.

DroneShield’s technologies—backed by artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, RF detection, and electronic warfare techniques—are already deployed globally to secure critical infrastructure by detecting and tracking unauthorized drone activity in real time. According to the release, the company aims to continue working with airport operators and the wider industry through the AAA to advance best practices and foster innovation in drone threat management
