Athlon Avia, a prominent Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems, has initiated a comprehensive recruitment campaign to identify and train pilots for its widely used “Furia” reconnaissance drones. This strategic effort aims to bolster the ranks of skilled drone operators within Ukraine’s defense forces, enhancing combat mission effectiveness.

According to The Defender Media, the campaign seeks to provide free training for future Furia drone pilots and assist them in securing placements within various units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces. The program, which coincides with the company’s 11th anniversary, reflects Athlon Avia’s ongoing commitment to supporting national security. The Defender Media also mentioned that over 3,000 Athlon Avia UAVs are currently in service with the Defence Forces, underscoring the critical role the company plays in supplying essential unmanned systems.

The recruitment process, as detailed by Athlon Avia, involves several stages, including application submission, selection through testing and interviews, unit selection by the candidate, and the signing of a contract with the chosen brigade. Following this, recruits undergo basic military training before commencing specialized Furia pilot training courses provided by the manufacturer. Athlon Avia’s CEO, Artem Vyunnyk, mentioned that the company guarantees full support and placement as pilots in the unit selected by the candidate, ensuring swift and effective integration of new operators into the Armed Forces. This initiative is designed to address the continuous need for proficient drone pilots and strengthen Ukraine’s aerial reconnaissance capabilities.
