UK-based Blighter Surveillance Systems has launched the B422LR, a new border surveillance radar that detects human targets at distances of up to 15 kilometers using just 4 watts of power. According to EDR Magazine, the radar leverages FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) technology and micro-Doppler processing to track slow-moving threats with high precision, making it ideal for border security and remote surveillance.

As reported by Defense Mirror, the system is designed for energy efficiency and mobility, requiring no active cooling and operating effectively on solar or battery power. Its solid-state build and lack of moving parts enhance durability, while its 360-degree coverage and compatibility with Blighter’s AI-driven BlighterNexus platform allow for real-time threat detection and system integration.

The radar is also free from U.S. ITAR and EU dual-use restrictions, easing international deployment. With its compact design and high performance, the B422LR presents a cost-effective solution for advanced ground surveillance.
