German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems is significantly scaling up its operations in Ukraine, with plans to double production and further localize manufacturing to support the country’s defense capabilities.

According to the Kyiv Independent, the company aims to double its drone output in Ukraine by the end of 2025. This expansion reflects growing demand for tactical unmanned aerial systems (UAS) as Ukraine continues to prioritize drone capabilities in its defense strategy.

Defence Blog reported that Quantum Systems is working closely with Ukrainian partners to enhance domestic production capacities, particularly for its Vector reconnaissance drones. These drones are valued for their intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities and are already in active service on the battlefield.

As noted by the Odessa Journal, a major step in this initiative includes the localization of the Vector drone’s fuselage production within Ukraine. This move is expected to not only speed up the supply chain but also strengthen Ukraine’s industrial base in high-tech defense manufacturing.

The expansion underscores Quantum Systems’ long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine’s technological sovereignty in the defense sector. By deepening local partnerships and investing in production infrastructure, the company is helping Ukraine build resilient, homegrown capabilities to meet its evolving security challenges.
