At IDET 2025 in Brno, Czech company AgentFly Technologies unveiled its latest innovation, the Gorgon X8, a tactical unmanned aerial system designed to support both frontline resupply missions and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.
According to Army Recognition, the Gorgon X8 has been developed to address modern battlefield logistics and situational awareness challenges. Its key strength lies in its hybrid operational capability, allowing it to conduct cargo deliveries while simultaneously gathering real-time battlefield intelligence. The drone can transport payloads up to 15 kilograms and reach a range of 25 kilometers, making it highly suitable for dynamic combat zones.
The aircraft is equipped with modular mission systems, including electro-optical and infrared sensors for ISR missions, and a cargo delivery module that can be rapidly swapped out. It features VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) capability, giving it operational flexibility in confined or rugged terrains—an essential feature for frontline deployment.
AgentFly emphasized that the Gorgon X8 has been engineered with autonomous flight capabilities and robust communication systems, allowing it to function effectively even in GPS-denied environments. The company also highlighted its focus on minimizing operator workload through an intuitive control interface.
The unveiling of the Gorgon X8 reflects a growing trend in European defense sectors to develop multi-role tactical drones that merge logistics support with ISR capabilities, particularly suited for NATO-aligned operational needs.
