VATN Systems has unveiled a new line of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) torpedoes, marking a significant step forward in naval defense technology. Simultaneously, the company inaugurated a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Rhode Island to support large-scale production of its innovative underwater systems.
According to MilitaryLeak, the newly launched product line includes the Skelmir S12, an AUV designed for a variety of underwater missions including surveillance, reconnaissance, and combat roles. The torpedo is built with modular architecture, allowing for rapid reconfiguration depending on operational requirements.
